BustedPlates values accurate, lawful, and responsible user-submitted content. While submissions are made by members of the public, we understand that mistakes can occur. This policy explains how to request the correction or removal of content appearing on our website.
Who May Submit a Request?

- You own or control the vehicle shown.
- You believe information is inaccurate.
- You believe content violates your legal rights.
- You believe content violates our Terms of Use.
Types of Requests
Correction Requests
You may request corrections if information is inaccurate, including:
- Incorrect license plate or temporary tag.
- Wrong city or state.
- Incorrect observation date.
- Incorrect vehicle description.
- Other factual errors.
Removal Requests
You may request removal if:
- The content was uploaded in error.
- The image contains prohibited personal information.
- The image violates copyright.
- The submission violates applicable law.
- The content violates our Terms of Use.
Information to Include
Please provide:
- The URL of the page.
- Your name.
- Your email address.
- A description of the issue.
- Supporting documentation if applicable.
Review Process
Upon receiving a request, we may:
- Review the submission.
- Request additional information.
- Temporarily hide content during review.
- Correct inaccurate information.
- Remove content if appropriate.
- Deny requests that lack sufficient evidence.
We generally strive to review requests within 10 business days, although response times may vary.
No Guarantee of Removal
Submission of a removal request does not guarantee that content will be removed. Each request is reviewed individually based on applicable law, our policies, and available evidence.
False Requests
Knowingly submitting false or misleading removal requests may result in denial of future requests and other action as permitted by law.
